Church Planting

It’s 10:02 a.m., phone alarms start buzzing. A group of disciples from multiple cities with one purpose pray for multiplication of the kingdom.

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” –Jesus (Luke 10:2)

Resurrection is part of the Harvest Partnership, who seeks to multiply the kingdom disciples and churches, by investing spiritual, relational, intellectual, physical, and financial capital (5 Capitals).

A Spirit-driven leading, high level of trust, and #WeCanDoMore together mentality has led to what is now called the Harvest Partnership. Two refrains are heard often, “Walking with Jesus. Walking with People” and “Connecting the disconnected from Jesus, His Church, and His Mission.” A high level of trust, high-accountability, and low-control coupled with the 5 Capitals characterize this journey; we just keep asking, “Spirit of Jesus, where can we join you?”

It all started in 2015 with a partnering of Christ the King in Kingwood and Lamb of God in Humble for a church start. In 2017, first planting pastor Seth Kunze and his wife Jacklyn launched The Dwelling (TheDwellingtx.org). Resurrection became a sending church in 2018 with Mark and Laura Pulliam, they are launching Lazarus Church (Lazaruschurch.com). David Wray (and Elvia) have joined Harvest Partnership and are beginning a launch in the Northwest side of Spring. And in 2019, Trey Sansom and his wife Kathy have joined us, as a church planting vicar.

Our partnership of established congregations and church plants are currently using a residency model. It is based on the Texas District’s framework “right place, right person, right plan.” The right place is the targeted region which the partnership identifies. Houston an already incredibly diverse metro area is projected to grow by another 4 million people in 20 years ( http://www.h-gac.com/regional-transportation-plan/2040/demographics.aspx ) The right person is sought through prayer and assessment by search effort of partners. The right plan is a clarification of the approach the planting pastor will define after learning the culture. The partners provide multiple capitals over the course of several years to launch Kingdom focused, joy-filled, God-sized anticipation seeking new churches and opportunities
